About the author
Ashok Kumar completed his BTech and MTech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He joined the IPS in 1989 and has served in various challenging assignments in UP and Uttarakhand. He has also served in the CRPF and in the BSF on a deputation basis. Presently, he is posted as director general of police (DGP), in Uttarakhand. Before this assignment, he was chief of intelligence and security and director general (DG), of law and order, in Uttarakhand. He received the UN Medal for serving in strife-torn Kosovo in 2001. He was awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2006 and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2013. He has authored a path-breaking book, Human in Khaki (Khaki Mein Insaan), which received the G.B. Pant Award from BPR&D and the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has also authored another consistent bestseller, Challenges to Internal Security of India, published by McGraw Hill.

Cover is not as shown in the picture but the cover I got is also very much satisfying.

If you are FIRST TIME READER OF THE SUBJECT, this book will really help you to get a broader and clear idea of how the security forces work and have evolved over the years and the international scenario w.r.t security...
If you are already preparing for UPSC and just to get that satisfaction of reading a standard book you can buy this, you might already know many of the topics.. but its just that the book is organised and there might be few heading and/or few details you have missed...so by briefly going through the book, you can have all the topics covered....just take a day or 2 to complete this not more than that...
1. Book size is perfect.
2. Binding is good.
3. Paper quality is good.
4. Language - vocabulary, sentence structure, grammar excellent.
5. Information to the point.
