Abstract: | The last few years have seen more liberal and supportive reforms correcting the imbalances related to trade, investments and exchange emerge in South Asia. Since the Oil crisis in 2008, surging unemployment rates and evincing Government policies, the leading political leaders, not to say businessmen also, have reflected an inordinate and unprecedented interest in the cross-border energy trade encompassing electricity and Natural Gas, not only within the South Asian region, but also among other regions, primarily in an asymmetrical yet systematic manner. This Business Dissertation, through the best use of resources available makes an effort to study the governance, commitment and advancement of the Energy cooperation in the region in a subjective form. South Asian energy economics, at the outset, reflect different trends and characteristics, but they are similar in many ways. The most conspicuous commonality between them is their dependence on import of energy products (particularly for oil). The South Asian possess dense and extensive domestic energy markets. The ability to alter the consumption patterns of these markets is limited. The idea behind an Energy cooperation among the South Asian countries must look forward to disseminate knowledge spin-offs which could include advisory services, pilot projects, technical assistance undertakings, nation-wide workshops and/or seminars, nation-wide roundtables, publications etc. A flamboyant economy in a geographically significant location, India has become the center for regional integration in South Asian Region, also in the Energy sector. The bilateral trade that India has concluded with its neighbors is the backbone of the energy ecosystem cooperation. |
